What We Believe
Detailed Statements of Belief and Value
These beliefs and values will be evident as we strive to attain our vision and live out our mission. They are a description of who we are, rather than a list of things to do. They have inspired our Core Values, Mission and Vision.
WE BELIEVE
1)We believe God is three persons in One: the Father, Who created and sustains the world; the Son, Who lived as a human being, died, and rose from the dead; and the Holy Spirit, Who works God's will in the world. Matthew 28: 18-21
Therefore we value a distinctly Christian view of God and the world.
2)We believe the Bible is the infallible word of God, spoken through human writers. It is the sole authority, guide and standard for all that we do. 2 Peter 1:20-21; 2 Timothy 3:16-17
Therefore we value fervent study of Gods Word.
3)We believe sin exists in every person. It is the cause of the bad things people do to each other. Romans 5:12, 18-19
Therefore we value the power of God to kindle loving relationships.
4)We believe everyone will have existence after death - either in heaven or hell - forever and without end.
Therefore we value sharing the life saving message of the Gospel with urgency.
WE BELIEVE IN...
5) We believe in grace alone - God loved the world, though we do not deserve His love. He sent His Son to love the unlovely and save the ungodly. Ephesians 2:8-10
Therefore we value all people regardless of age, financial status, or their past.
6)We believe in faith alone - Jesus has provided for our forgiveness and life; those who hear this promise and believe it, have what it offers. Romans 1:16-17
Therefore we value trusting in Jesus completely.
7)We believe in scripture alone - The Bible is the only source that shows God's will and the only basis for faith. 2 Timothy 3:16-17
Therefore we value sharing Gods timeless message in truthful and practical ways for changing times.
WE BELIEVE THAT...
8) We believe that Baptism and Communion are a means by which God gives people His grace. Acts 2:38-39; Matthew 26:26-28
Therefore we value the joy of Gods presence in each of us.
9)We believe that God calls us to love Him with all our heart, soul and mind. Luke 10:27
Therefore we value weekly public worship that energizes all believers to worship God daily.
10)We believe that faith formation and growth are a continuous process.
Therefore we value being a home centered-church supported ministry for people of all ages.
11)We believe that large churches are not places to get lost in the shuffle but to find Jesus and grow in faith.
Therefore we value small group ministry.
12)We believe that Scripture commands us to pray without ceasing (1 Thessalonians 5:17)
Therefore we value regular prayer with and for each other.
